More from Lake Blanche

Saturday, the Mr. and I decided to go hiking in Big Cottonwood Canyon. We picked the Lake Blanche trail because it’s only 3.5 miles up and 3.5 miles down, a 7 mile out and back. But we didn’t realize that it was 3.5 miles straight up the side of the mountain, then back down again. Seriously, for every five feet forward, we gained a foot in elevation. That is one steep fucker - think of it like 7 miles of stiar climbing. We made it to the top and enjoyed tasty peanut butter sandwiches with the view. Yummy.

Possibly, but wait - what’s that in the background?

Oh, my, that would be a finished sleeve and a shitty kitty! After socks and socks and socks and lace, this aran weight project is knitting up so quickly. And yes, I’m a little crazy and like to block each piece right after I bind off. I love to watch the pieces take shape and then they’re all so soft and smell so clean when it comes time to sew them together.
Lest you think all I do is knit, yesterday the Mr. and I went on a lovely hike to Desolation Point in Millcreek Canyon. It’s a short 2 mile hike that ends with an overlook of the Salt Lake valley.
Millcreek is close to where I live, such a beautiful canyon and perfect for hiking, biking and having a picnic. We’ve had so much moisture that ground cover on trail is thick, green and lush.

If you’re interested, here’s a panoramic view that the Mr. put together.
